Rio Carnival 2018 will have the largest private investment in history

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Something to be congratulated on the Rio prefecture of Crivella is to avoid the use of public money in actions not linked to the public power, but to facilitate that private initiative invest. This has received many criticisms, after all, the Brazilian thinks that government money does not end, that there is this thing called budget.

Then it is to congratulate the Project Carnival Rio 2018, promoted by Riotur, which hit budget record, guaranteeing total private investment of R $35 million, offered by Uber and Dream Factory. Riotur's role in this uptake of sponsorships corroborates the intention of making these events autofinanceable, minimizing the impact on the public budget and attracting private capital to the realization of the largest event in Rio de Janeiro. This figure covers the operational costs of street carnival, parades of carnaval access groups on Avenue Intendente Magalhães, Blocos de Embalo e Enredo, Palcos e Bailes Populares, stages and popular balls.
The investment will be earmarked for structural and planning improvements, including security, surveillance, transit operations, visual communication, medical posts and chemical bathrooms; In addition to five centres of surveillance, installed in the areas of greater circulation. Liesa, which brings together the 13 associations of the special group, will receive R $27.5 million in total, including still Real $8 million offered by the Ministry of Culture, which presents an increase of R $3.5 million compared to the contribution of previous years.
