Rock in Rio 2019: The great musical festival of Rio de Janeiro

After the success of the 2017 edition, Rio de Janeiro's City of Rock repeats itself as the place chosen for the celebration of the Rock in Rio 2019 festival. Once again, Rio de Janeiro's Olympic Park, located on the shores of the Jacarepaguá lagoon, will host seven intense days of music, fun and energy.

The samba carnival 2019 is already playing in the streets of Rio de Janeiro

Brazil, Rio: 1.8 million tourists will visit Rio de Janeiro during this year's carnival.
The Rio de Janeiro carnival, the most famous in the world, is already warming up for the intense month of March that awaits it, which will have its apex on the nights of Sunday 03 and Monday 04 , March 2019 with the famous parade at the Sambódromo of the Special Group's samba schools.

Rio de Janeiro Street carnival 2019 festivities:
By the end of the week, thousands of people are expected to dance and sing after musical groups such as the Banda de Ipanema, the Bloco das Carmelitas or the Orquestra Voadora in the streets of this Brazilian city where carnival is already taking place.

Considered by the Cariocas as "the biggest party in the world," the figures generated by the Rio de Janeiro carnival are the best proof of its unparalleled magnitude.

The municipal tourism company, Riotur, estimates that 1.8 million tourists will visit Rio de Janeiro during this year's carnival, which means that the total public, including cariocas and foreigners, should reach 5 million people, 10% more than last year.

According to the Rio de Janeiro Hotel Association, the occupancy rate during carnival week should be 90%.

Visitors should spend in the city about about 970 million dollars.

Wilson Dias da Costa Neto, 32, and Clara Paixão, 35, are Rei Momo and Rainha do Carnaval Carioca. The Court of revelry was elected at dawn this Saturday (26), with a party in the City of Samba, in the Port Zone. Deisiane Jesus and Viviane Ramos are the princesses.

The candidates for King Momo present were observed for their resourcefulness, sociability, ease of expression, friendliness, carnival spirit and mastery of the art of sambar. The candidates for the Queen were judged for their sociability, ease of expression, friendliness, carnival spirit, beauty of the face and harmony of physical lines, and mastery of the art of sambar.

Wilson won the title of "King Momo 1st and Carnival Unique 2019", a crown, a track, a scepter and R$ 30 thousand.

Wilson Neto returns to his post after leading the party for three years, between 2014 and 2016.
Clara, elected "Queen of Carnival 2019," won a crown, a track and also R$30,000. The second place, Deisiane, won the title of 1st Princess of Carnival 2019, a tiara, a track and R$ 22,500.

Rio de Janeiro Sambadrome has a book over 30 years old

"Palco dos sonhos: 30 anos do Sambódromo": The book is a contribution of the  brazilian Magazine Rio Samba  and Carnival to the memory of the Rio de Janeiro samba schools. The project created by Maurício Mattos with texts by professor Felipe Ferreira, iconographic research by Fernando Araújo and visual programming by Fábio Corazza, tells the story of the Samba Passarelle from the first sounders who imagined a track specially created for the carnival parades to the last championship schools. The work highlights the main people who contributed to make the space created by Oscar Niemeyer, the great temple of samba art : the Sambadrome stadium, Rio de Janeiro.

The more than 250 photos that compose the work, many of the unpublished ones, were preserved in different sources, with emphasis on the photographic archive of magazine  Rio Samba and Carnival. The book is an indispensable tool for any research, participate or simply admire the biggest popular festival in the world: the carnival of the samba schools of Rio de Janeiro.

Rio Carnival 2018: Xuxa will participate in the street Block Spanta Neném

Xuxa's Show will happen after parade of the carnival bloco in Rio.

 Xuxa is among the attractions of the Block Spanta baby, which parades in Rio de Janeiro on the day 27/1/2018. The brazilian presenter will do a show at the party after the parade of the collective, at 5pm, in the Equestrian society -Sociedade Hípica Brasileira, in Lagoa.

The presentation promises to remember the successes of Xuxa as a singer, besides counting the presence of Paquitas. "Carnival is the time of year that the Carioca reveals its essence with more vitality. Often fleeing the standards taken as "normal" during the rest of the year. Season 2018: Cruise tourists start arriving to Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro season 2018: Even going through a bad time, Rio de Janeiro continues to attract many tourists. For example, this month will be given the start for the 2017/2018 Sea Cruises season at Pier Maua (Rio de Janeiro harbor). Rio Carnival 2018 will have the largest private investment in history

Part of the value collected from the private initiative will also comprise the subsidy given to the Carnival Samba schools of the special group, totaling an investment of R $19.5 million, added only the parcels of the municipality of Rio and Riotur. Liesa, which brings together the 13 associations of the special group, will receive R $27.5 million in total, including still Real $8 million offered by the Ministry of Culture, which presents an increase of R $3.5 million compared to the contribution of previous years.

Rio de Janeiro Carnival 2017: Blocos take about 1 million people to the streets

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Carnival Blocos (carnival street bands)take about 1 million people to the streets of Rio on the weekend.
Only the Bloco da Preta had estimated public of 500,000 people, on this Sunday. In Copacabana Beach, 200,000 carnival revelers tanned the sertanejo music of the Bloco Chora Me Liga, under heat of 40ḞC.

Brazil Carnival 2017 still didn't begin officially, but the movement in the streets of Rio proves that the hot fun already arrived to be. About 1 million people participated at the party of 115  blocks Saturday (February 18) to Sunday (February 19)

The largest was the Bloco da Preta, with 500 thousand people in this Sunday in the Center, with homage to the Chacrinha centennial.
Under sun and thermal sensation of 40ḞC, 200 thousand people followed the Chora Me Liga for the beach walk of Copacabana, for a carnival in rhythm sertanejo.

The Suvaco de Cristo had 15,000 thousand revelers public in the Jardim Botanico. In Barra da Tijuca, 70 thousand people accompanied the street band Bloco da Barra.

The Brazilian carnival fest was inaugurated well early, as 4 thousand people in the Cordão do Boitatá, in the Center. The Timoneiros da Viola, in Madureira, counted with the 10,000 people and, in Laranjeiras, the traditional block infantile Gigante da Lira gathered 4 thousand revelers, between adults and children.

On Saturday, they were about 250 thousand people participated at the party. The carnival bloco that gathered more cariocas and tourists were the Simpatia é Quase Amor, in Ipanema, with 50,000 people.

Estacio de Sá opens the Big Parade Rio's Carnival 2016 And to start these marvellous parades, this Sunday Feb 7th at 21h00 (Brazil Time), in the Avenida Marquês do Sapucaí in downtown Rio de Janeiro, the red and white colours of the GRES Estacio de Sá will set the Avenue on fire and carry the crowd to ecstasy.

 The Sambódromo will be crowded from early at noon until Sunday morning (04:00 am), when the last Escola de Samba will end its parade.

Queen Latifah in the Brazil Carnival rehearsal 2015
